Education often focuses solely on academic achievement, while neglecting the emotional strength necessary to overcome obstacles to learning. While protecting kids from some kinds of emotional stress is important, a healthy level of emotional turmoil actually helps develop resilience to it, and therefore helps kids ignore it. By ignoring it, they are able to focus on their studies to a greater degree. When children don’t develop proper emotional strength, they are prone to negative feelings that get in the way of their studies. Teachers should help kids develop their emotional strength as well as their academic knowledge, in order to provide a well-rounded educational experience.
