Your mental state is probably even more important than your physical state when it comes to sports performance. You won’t get very far if you are physically weak, but an improper mental state will lead to freezing up, or being so stressed out that you forget how to move correctly. A positive, confident state of mind though will allow you to focus and excel because you will be more comfortable, and know that you can “do it.” The proper level of emotional arousal will put you in varying degrees of mental states. Some states work better for different sports than others do.
