According to Dr. Doug Balke, M.D., a psychiatrist at the West Yavapai (AZ) Guidance Clinic, “Depression robs people of their ability to enjoy life.” There are a variety of causes of depression which can be genetic, environmental, psychological, and biochemical. Approximately 9 per cent of Americans report that they are depressed occasionally, and 3.4 percent suffer from major depression.
