While nobody is quite sure about how technology affects the healthy development of children and teenagers, there are many things to consider. For example, the accelerated development of online social interactivity might be interfering with the way children normally develop social skills. When kids post things online, they worry more about how it will make others think of them. This might be beneficial, however, because kids can test out a few different identities, receive instant feedback from their peers, and therefore more efficiently discover what they identify with. Regardless of how technology affects children though, the increased use of non-school related technologies is increasing at an alarming rate.
