Effectively Parenting Teens: Leading by Example

Raising a teenager has many unique challenges that aren’t present during any other time while they are growing up. The parent-teen relationship is often strained due to the child feeling conditionally loved. Other things that can cause stress in the family include not letting the teenager learn from failure, not teaching proper time management and problem-solving skills, and teenagers taking things for granted because they receive too many gifts. Parents can also fall victim to simply not knowing how to say no. Parents should try to be kind yet firm, and let their children help with finding solutions that work for everybody.
